University of Oxford Project Members

Dr Alex Rogers – C0-Principal Investigator

Alex is a Professor of Conservation Biology at the Department of Zoology and a Fellow of Somerville College, University of Oxford. His current research is focussed on the ecology and evolution of deep-sea and ecosystems and human impacts on them.

Dr Michelle Taylor – Senior Postdoctoral Researcher

Michelle is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Stipendiary Lecturer of St. Anne’s College, University of Oxford. Her research interests span the molecular to the ocean-level, with a focus on the deep-sea and its benthic habitats. Broadly I am interested in deep-sea ecosystems, what drives their biodiversity, and how we can limit human impacts in vulnerable habitats such as coral reefs, hydrothermal vents, and seamounts, etc.

Dr Nicolai Roterman – Postdoctoral researcher

Nicolai is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford. His principle interest is in understanding the biogeography of animal communities at deep-sea hydrothermal vents. I’m also interested in understanding how certain animals evolved into hydrothermal endemic species.
